STATE OF NEW YORK )
COUNTY OF NEW YORK) SS:-
WILLIAM F. THORBURN, being duly sworn, says:
I am a physician duly licensed to
practice as such and one of the applicants in the proceeding for leave
to intervene.
I was born in New York City in 1899
and attended the New York City public schools and graduated from Morris
High School.
I entered the City College of the City
of New York and had to leave after three months because of my father's
death when I went to work. I volunteered for the Army in World War I and
was enlisted in the Student's Training Corps. I was honorably discharged
at the end of the war. I was graduated from the Chicago College of Osteopathy
in 1922, after which I took and passed the New York State Medical Board
Examination and was licensed as an osteopathic physician.
I thereafter took special courses given
by the New York State Medical Board in endocrinology, narcotics, serums
and vaccines. I was thereafter passed and was certified by the state to
have the full medical privileges of the holder of the Degree of the Doctor
of Medicine.
For many years thereafter I was associated
with the New York Osteopathic Clinic, doing examinations and treatment.
I continued my studies and took special courses in tuberculosis and physio-therapy.
I am a member of the American Osteopathic
Association, the New York State Osteopathic Society and the Osteopathic
Society of the City of New York.
I practice medicine at 145 East 52nd
Street, New York City, New York.
I entered into personal work with Dr.
Wilhelm Reich in 1940 to learn the technic of therapy.
Since that time, in my practice of
medicine, I have applied the principles of orgonomy and the orgone energy
accumulator in the practice of my profession and I have continued my studies,
attending lectures, seminars and laboratory sessions in all phases of psycho-somatics.
As a physician and scientist, I attest to the scientific validity of the
principles of orgonomy and the therapeutic value of the orgone energy accumulator.
I employ them in my profession because it is my duty to employ such principles
as I believe will best serve my patients.
The injunction restricts and curtails
me in the practice of my profession, the earning of my livelihood and my
development and growth as a physician and scientist.
These rights of mine, personal and
legal, have not been adequately rcpresented in the main procceding and
I respectfully request the Court to grant this application of myself and
my co-applicants for leave to intervene on the same ground as more fully
set forth in the affiidavit of Dr. James A. Willie.
Signed..... William F. Thornburn D.O.
