STATE OF NEW YORK       )
COUNTY OF NEW YORK  ) SS:-

OSCAR TROPP, being duly sworn, says:

I am a physician duly licensed to practice as such and one of the applicants in this proceeding for leave to intervene.
I did my pre-medical studies at the City College of the City of New York, Columbia University and New York University. I received my medical degree from Dalhousie University, Faculty of Medicine, Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1926.
From about June of 1926 to June of 1927, I was on a general interneship at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. I received my license to practice medicine in New York State in June of 1927.
I was resident at the Correction Hospital (New York City Department of Correction) New York City, from June 1927 to August of 1928. Thereafter, and until January 1, 1929, I was assistant resident at the New York City Cancer Institute. For the next six months I was resident in obstetrics at the Berwind Maternity Center, New York City. This was an independent clinic which dealt in Obstetrics and permitted its patients to remain at home even during delivery. Thereafter, it became associated with the Cornell University Medical Center. From July 1, 1929, to January of 1932, I was Admitting Physician at the Morrisania City Hospital, Bronx County, New York.
I went into general practice on January 1, 1932 with emphasis on gynecology and obstetrics. At that time, I was a member of the Bronx County Medical Society.
I joined the United States Army in July of 1942, with the rank of Captain and served through the war until June 1946. During that period I did neuro-psychiatric work in both station hospital and general hospital.
In the last two years of the war I was Chief of the Closed Ward Section of the Psychiatric Division of the General Hospital, the DeWitt General Hospital, at Auburn, California.
I commenced the general practice of psychiatry in New York City in July of 1946.
In October of 1946, I began training with Dr. Wilhelm Reich in orgonomy. This entailed personal therapy, character analytical work, and the acquisition of knowledge and technique in orgone therapy.
Since January 1, 1948, I have been practicing medicine in New York City, in the general fields of medicine and psychiatry and specializing in medical orgone therapy.
I am a member of the New York County Medical Association, the New York State Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association.
My work, studies and.experience as a scientist and physician have convinced me that the principles of orgonomy and the use of the orgone energy accumulator in medical and psychiatric therapy are valid scientific principles. As a physician, I believe it to be my duty to employ for the benefit of my patients those principles of science which will be of the most help to them.
The injunction in this case operates to deprive me my right to practice medicine and earn my livelihood in the practice of medicine and psychiatry and operates to curtail and hamper my development and growth as a scientist. These rights of mine have not been adequately represented in the main proceeding and for these reasons I respectfully join the application to leave to intervene on all of the grounds more specifically set forth in the affidavit of Dr. James A. Willie.
