STATE OF NEW YORK )
COUNTY OF ESSEX ) SS:-
K. M. BREMER, being duly sworn, says:
I am a physician and psychiatrist
duly licensed to practice as such and one of the applicants for leave to
intervene.
I was born on September 4th, 1911 at
Maplewood, New Jersey where I was educated in the local school system.
I was graduated from Hamilton College,
Clinton, New York with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in 1933.
I entered Duke Medical School in 1933
and transferred to Long Island College of Medicine in 1937. I was graduated
from Long Island College of Medicine in 1939 with my degrce of Doctor of
Medicine.
Thereafter, from 1939 to 1941, I was
on a rotating internship at Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, New Jersey.
I was in the general practice of medicine from 1941 to 1942.
From 1942 to 1946, I was in the United
States Army Medical Corps. I received training at the Aviation School of
Medicine, Ranolph Field, San Antonio, Texas and thereafter served with
an Anti-Submarine Squadron in the British West Indies with the rank of
Flight Surgeon. I have credit for three years of neuropsychiatry in service
by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. This includes training
at Mason General Hospital at the School of Mlitary Neurology and Psychiatry,
"Open and Closed" Ward Assignments, Out Patient Clinics, utilizing
social workers, psychologists' services and doing electro-shock, narco
analysis and psychotherapy.
I was commanding officer of the Air
Evacuation Squadron, training doctors, nurses and enlisted men. I organized
a medical section and later was chief of neuropsychiatric section of separation
center and chief of neuropsychiatry at station hospital and consultant
in Eighth Service Command Area.
From 1946 to 1947, I was resident on
the staff of the New Jersey State Hospital, Greystone Park, New Jersey
and from 1947 to 1948, I was resident on the staff of the Institute of
Living, Hartford, Conn. I have additional courses, not for credit, taken
in 1946 and 1947 at the Vanderbilt Clinic and Presbyterian Hospital of
Columbia Medical Center in Neurology, seeing out patient and hospitalized
cases. Additional courses at the New School for Social Research under the
American Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, Karen Horney,
Director, and a course in neuropsychiatry completed at Rutgers University
(Extention) in 1947.
From 1948 to 1954, I have been in the
private practice of medicine, specializing in psychiatry at East Orange,
New Jersey. This specialty includes all of my previous experience, knowledge
and training, and the application of the principles of orgonomy.
In 1950, 1 did part-time work for three
months at the Veterans' Administration, Newark, Jersey as a neuropsychiatrist
examiner. I was Assistaat Director for seven months of the Essex County
Mental Hygene Clinic. In 1952, I was Deputy Medical Director, Civil Defense,
City of East Orange, New Jersey.
I am presently on the staff of the
hospital center of the Oranges:
1. ..................
Physician,
Medical Department (Consultant in Psychiatry);
in
charge of psychiatric clinic (Out Patient Department);
2. New
Jersey Orthopedic Hospital, Orange, New Jersey,
Consultant
in Psychiatry.
I am also on the staff of Mountainside
Hospital, Montclair, New Jersey as Assistant Attending Physician, Medical,
(Psychiatric Hospital, and Out Patient Clinic).
I am also on the staff of Essex County
Sanitorium, Verona, New Jersey, as associate consultant in neuropsychiatry.
I am also on the staff of Mountain
View Rest at Roseland, New Jersey, as neuropsychiatrist in charge of this
private psychiatric sanitorium. I am also on the courtesy staff of East
Orange General Hospital, East Orange, New Jersey.
I am the member of the Essex County
Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the New Jersey Neuropsychiatric
Association, and Associated Physicians of Montclair and Vicinity.
Among my writings are articles which
appeared in the Journal of Allergy, 1936, entitled "Staphylococcus
Toxoid-Acne Vulgaris". I have also written articles on the medical
effects of orgone energy. I am licensed in New Jersey and in Connecticut.
The principles of orgonomy and the
use of these principles with the orgone energy accumulator in psychiatry
have been applied in my profession. These are as indicated by Dr. Willie
in his affidavit and I will not burden the Court with a repitition of that.
As a psychiatrist, employing the pinciples
of orgone energy in the use of the accumulator, I find that the injunction
hampers, curtails and prejudices me in practice of my profession and the
earning of my livelihood.
In 1950, I was at the Orgone Institute,
Rangeley, Maine, as a student in orgone physics. My experience with the
orgone energy accumulator began personally in 1946, has extended since
then and my experimental work with the accumualator began in 1950. I leave
undergone, personally, orgone therapy intermittently since 1947 and I have
continued my studies in orgone physics periodically and privately in 1953
and .... as a patient, as a scientist, as a physician, I attest to this
Court, the medical and scientific validity of the orgone energy therapy
and the therapuetic effects of the orgone energy accumulator and I respectfully
request that my application for leave to intervene and for all of the relief
as set forth in the affidavit of Dr. Willie be granted.
Signed....... Kenneth M. Bremer, M.D.
