Lecture & Workshop, James DeMeo, Ph.D. in Farmington, Michigan, 9-10 March 2001
**Friday, 9 March 2001: 7-9 PM Lecture - "Saharasia: The 4000 BCE Origins of Emotional Armoring in the Great Old World Desert Belt" Admission charge of $10.
Following on the breakthrough social and environmental research of the late Wilhelm Reich, James DeMeo has extensively researched the cross-cultural relationships between climate and human behavior, finding a geographical and historical relationship between the large desert region of the old work -- called Saharasia -- and the most extremely violent and dominating forms of human culture. The origins of the massive climate change which created the Sahara and other Old World desert regions, appears to have been the trigger that pushed early human societies towards the first recorded instances of violence and warfare.
**Saturday, 10 March 2001: 10 AM to 4 PM Workshop - "Orgone Energy (Life Energy)" Admission charge of $50
James DeMeo will discuss the discovery of a cosmic-biological-atmospheric life energy by Wilhelm Reich, and termed Orgone Energy. The workshop will include discussion and demonstrations of basic principles and materials for construction and use of the orgone energy accumulator and blanket. Additional discussion will be made on the subject of orgone physics, and relevant atmospheric and environmental considerations.
Both events will take place at: The Tree House 22906 Mooney St. Farmington, Michigan. 248-473-0624
Seating is limited; contact the Tree House for registration.

SPRING AND FALL SEMINARS OFFERED BY THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF THE WORK OF WILHELM REICH
* Saturday, March 10, 2001, 10AM - 12 Noon:
The Use of Medications in Orgone Treatment:
Dr. Reich was always very clear that the proper use medications was part of the treatment of any disease. He was highly critical of the mechanical application of medicines to create the illusion of a magical cure. There has been very little serious examination of the use of drugs from an energetic perspective. Added to this, many of those who a drawn toward Dr. Reich's work tend to have an "anti-medication bias". This forum brings together a group of psychiatrists and orgone therapists, all trained in orgonomy, to address this topic from a contemporary vantage.
Participants: Harry Lewis, MSW, Ed.D.; Daniel Schiff, Ph.D.; Harold Schwarz, M.D.; Eric Weitzner, M.D.
Tuition: $15 per meeting; $25 for series (prepaid). Students $10 per meeting
For further information contact: Dr. Harry Lewis (212) 243-1393

Lecture & Workshop, James DeMeo, Ph.D. in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 22-23 April 2001 at the International Conference on Science and Consciousness
**Sunday, 22 April 2001, 10:30 AM - 12:00 Noon Lecture - "Objective Discovery of Life Energy: Wilhelm Reich's Orgone Energy" Admission charged: Contact Conference Organizers for Details.
Dr. DeMeo will present the central facts of Wilhelm Reich's original orgone energy experiments, with discussion of newer scientific studies which have verified his findings over the last 50 years. An orgone energy blanket and orgone energy field meter will be demonstrated, along with several visual experiments the audience can try for seeing orgone energy. Dr. DeMeo will show photographic slides of orgone energy phenomena and some experiments, including results of his desert-greening experiments with the cloudbuster, in the USA and in Africa.
**Monday, 23 April 2001, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM Lecture/Seminar - "Orgone Accumulator Therapy of Severe Diseases and Injuries - The Current Situation" Admission charged: Contact Conference Organizers for Details.
Dr. Wilhelm Reich's biomedical work was ended in the USA in the 1950s, following Food and Drug Administration raids upon his facility, which resulted in a court-ordered book-burning and Reich's death in prison. Since then, few American physicians have been willing to use the accumulator to treat their patients. In Germany, however, the accumulator has been openly used for years, with amazing positive results. Dr. DeMeo has met with many of these physicians and gives a report on what's happening in Europe. Double-blind, controlled studies of the orgone accumulator will be discussed and an orgone energy blanket and orgone field meter will be demonstrated. Slides will be shown of the larger orgone accumulators, along with discussion of the results on human subjects.

Description:
Orgone Therapy
The following workshops will be conducted by Drs. Richard Blasband and Patricia Frisch, Ph.D.:
Character Transformation: From Armored to Flowing
A group interactive workshop utilizing Wilhelm Reich's techniques of dissolving characterological and muscular armoring
Sponsored by The Blasband/Frisch Institute April 22-27, 2001, at the Esalen Institute.
Continuing education credits for psychologists and social workers is pending. Please contact Esalen for a catalog at 831-667-3000, ext. 7100.
We have the capability to experience pleasure, aliveness and vitality, yet we feel tension, lack of sexual desire, frozen, heavy, trapped, and ill. Our physicality expresses our thoughts, our feelings, our very being, Our symptoms are communications from the depth of our past rooted in the present in our character structure and body armor. To dissolve our rigidities and free up our life energy we must deeply change the way we engage with others and ourselves. As our character informs our body, we must become conscious of our most habitual styles that twist our body/mind into distortions of who we really are.
This workshop is an intensive interactive process whereby participants can begin to restructure their character style and its manifestations at the deepest levels of their psychophysical being. Using Wilhelm Reich's techniques of character analysis with direct interventions on the body armor within a dynamic group process, participants will begin to transform their structures in bold and profound ways that will insist on further change. Dreams, guided imagery, and movement will deepen the journey to layers of the unconscious that need to be accessed. The transformational process emerges in the labyrinth of our movements, breath, thoughts, and feelings in a deep exchange within the community we will create. We come closer to our true, naturally sexual, and spiritual natures.
"One is reminded of the loss of spontaneity in children ... always experienced as a 'going dead' or 'being walled in', 'being put in an armor'"- Wilhelm Reich

2) Orgontherapie

Epidemic diseases of varying kinds and proportions have ravaged life on this planet for millennia - the black plague, the bubonic plague, aids, etc. We read about them in history books and newspapers and see pictures of their victims on our television screens. Throughout the ages, brave men and women have lost their lives in efforts to understand and combat these dreaded diseases. Such a one was physician-scientist Wilhelm Reich who, in the twentieth century, identified and fought a scourge based in the dysfunctional energy metabolism that exists in most human beings. Reich called it the "emotional plague."
This program will spotlight that disease as it is manifested worldwide in individual and social life, focusing on its role in fascism, reactions to scientific discoveries and new knowledge, and in the murder of Christ.
To apply for the Thomas E. Ross Memorial Scholarship, send a letter to the Wilhelm Reich Museum, PO Box 687, Rangeley, Me. 04970. All applications must be received by June 1st.

Elisa
