When: October 18-22, 1995
Conference Title: International Somatics Congress
Conference Sponsor: The Center for Bodymind Integration
Where: San Francisco, California - usa
Description: International Somatics Congress
October 18-22, 1995 in San Francisco, California; at the Cathedral Hill Hotel.

Though the entrance fee is high ($375), there's an impressive list of speakers, including Richard Blasband, Eleanor Criswell, Michael Murphy, Stanley Keleman, Chuck Kelley, Heiko Lassek, Stanislov & Christina Grof, John Pierrakos, Myron Sharaf, and many others.
However, the name "Wilhelm Reich" is barely mentioned in the brochure. Still, the subject headings are fascinating. Aside from speakers, they're having a video festival, meditation, silent space, a full-size labyrinth "identical to the one found in Chartres Cathedral in France", "laughing meditation". Also: Bookstore, Creative Art Studio, Youth Congress, Clowns, International Forum, Bodywork Center, professional networking, interactive symposia. Individual speakers are also availaable for more intensive workshops and/or therapy in the Esalen tradition, for an extra fee.
This looks like a real breakthrough: a widely divergent assortment of viewpoints from people around the world, who have spent decades trying to sort out the legacy of Wilhelm Reich.
Sponsored by The Center for Bodymind Integration (CBI), 20 Sunnyside Ave., Suite A243, Mill Valley, CA 94941; tel. (800) 820-9119 or (415) 284-6280. Contact them for further info.
Those with videos, books, or other salable media relating to the event should call (510) 527-3600, and those who have a video for the video festival should call (510) 687-4437. Jim Martin recently completed the first part of a series of video interviews with Eva Reich, and he'll submit it to the video festival for the event. Part One: "Wilhelm Reich and the UFO Phenomena; Desert Orop Ea". 1 hour VHS tape: $35.00 plus $3.00 shipping. Proceeds benefit Eva's "retirement fund".
